The SAT Reasoning Test is a standardized test for college admission in the United States. The results of the SAT reasoning is used to assess critical thinking skills that are essential for a successful academic progression in university.
There have been important changes in the structure of the test in 2016, the updated structure is as follows –
1、 Reading: 52 MCQ in 65 minutes based on comprehension of passages from literature, history, social sciences and natural sciences
2、Writing & Language: 44 MCQ in 35 minutes based on grammar, vocabulary (word choice) and editing skills
3、Math: 58 MCQ in 80 minutes from Algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
4、Essay (Optional): 50 minutes for 1 essay which uses evidence from the source to explain how the author argues.
You are recommended to take the essay because many schools require it.
The SAT Subject Tests are designed to measure students’ knowledge and skills in particular subject areas, as well as their ability to apply that knowledge. The tests are independent of any particular textbook or method of instruction, and many colleges use them for admissions, for course placement, and to advise students about course selection.
